Terrell Thornhill,
Artist's Statement

"Look what I made for you!"

Growing up, it didn't take long to realize how a single phrase could elevate a shy and somewhat invisible, middle-child into the glorious and highly-coveted realm of "center-of-attention."

I suppose that may explain how this all started. And today, I'd like to be able to say that my motivations to produce works of art have since matured and become more purposeful. That my ideas for art are more intellectually-conceived, inspired and more meaningful, but in all honesty, I can't. To this very day, the purpose remains the same.

"Look what I made for you."
Artist's Bio

LOCATION: The boonies, outside of Fairview, Tennessee, in Williamson County.

DISCIPLINES: Serigraph/Silkscreening/Slinging Ink, Papermaking, Hi-Contrast, Low-Fi.

INFLUENCES: Fascinated by pop artists whose work borderlines the realm of political and social commentary I’ve always been drawn to art that pushes the envelope.  My inspiration is gathered from the likes of Ralph Steadman, Roy Lichtenstein and Kurt Vonegut although my work is often compared to Andy Warhol’s. While I do admire Warhol’s artistic techniques, the similarity ends there.

BACKGROUND: I grew up an artistic lad despite being born and bred in a land devoid of culture, reason and fine art.  For the most part, self-taught, I have developed my own artistic style and this has become a source of personal pride.  Most of what I know, especially concerning artistic endeavors, I've figured out on my own.

TODAY: I enjoy each day living and working alongside my wife Janine. We also own and manage e-zign Design Group, a highly creative bunch who can handle almost any creative task.
